SEC Baseball Power Poll

Florida, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, LSU, Kentucky, all won SEC baseball series over the weekend. Here’s a look at our updated SEC Baseball Power Poll for Week 9.

1, Last Week: 1 41-12 (20-7) Florida continues to roll. The Gators took two out of three from a solid Georgia team. Road series versus Mississippi State.
2, Last Week: 3 36-15 (17-10) The Hogs swept a good A&M squad at home. The Hogs take a trip to Athens in the final weekend for a showdown with the Bulldogs. Road series at Georgia.
3, Last Week: 2 35-16 (16-11) A 7-6 loss in game 1 to Florida was the difference in winning a road series at Florida. Georgia gets another tough test this weekend, hosting the Razorbacks. Home series versus Arkansas.
4, Last Week: 5 39-13 (16-11) Ole Miss swept a good Auburn team in Oxford. The Rebs should be able to finish strong at Alabama but you can't afford overlook any team in this league. Road series at Alabama.
5, Last Week: 4 30-21 (15-12) The Gamecocks took care of business at home, taking two of three from South Carolina. USC has won four straight series. Road series at Texas A&M.
6, Last Week: 6 35-17 (13-14) After Auburn swept Vanderbilt, the Tigers were promptly swept by Ole Miss. Auburn will host LSU this weekend for a series that both team's desperately need to win. Home series with LSU.
7, Last Week: 8 31-21 (14-13) LSU took the series against Alabama but a single loss to the Tide could cost the Tigers dearly in the battle for an good NCAA seed. A road series at Auburn is critical for both teams. Road series at Auburn.
8, Last Week: 9 33-18 (13-14) Kentucky won two of three at home versus Mississippi State. This weekend the Cats visit Vandy. Both teams need a series win to finish at .500 in the league. A losing conference record doesn't bode well for NCAA seeding purposes. Road series at Vanderbilt.
9, Last Week: 10 27-24 (13-14) Vanderbilt picked up a road series victory at Tennessee, winning 2 of 3. Hard hitting Kentucky visits this weekend in a series with important ramifications for both programs. Home series versus Kentucky.
10, Last Week: 7 34-17 (12-15) After climbing back into the polls, A&M laid an egg at Arkansas. They have a chance to make up lost ground at home against South Carolina this week. Home series versus South Carolina.
11, Last Week: 11 28-24 (12-15) State starting conference play being swept by Vanderbilt. They've rebounded and are almost certain to make it into the SEC Tourney. If they can win one this weekend over Florida, that'll be a major moral victory. Home series with Florida.
12, Last Week: 12 28-25 (11-16) Tennessee suffered a 2-1 series loss to rival Vandy. Now the Vols must win two of three at Missouri to get in the SEC Tourney. Road series at Missouri.
13, Last Week: 13 31-20 (10-17) Mizzou may have saved their season by winning one at South Carolina. If the Tigers can win two out of three against UT they'll be tied with the Vols in the standings but have the tie breaker. Home series with Tennessee.
14, Last Week: 14 26-27 (7-20) Alabama might have won a series at LSU had they not blown a big lead in game 1. Despite an almost certain last place finish, the Tide can take solace in the fact that they are improved from 2017. Home series with Ole Miss.
