SEC BASEBALL STOCK EXCHANGE WEEK 9

Week 9 saw Auburn continue to spiral downward while LSU rolls on. Arkansas, Georgia, Mizzou and Ole Miss came up with big series wins. Here is our Week 9 SEC Baseball Stock Exchange.

STOCK PRICE HIGH

FLORIDA- After a slow start, Florida has systematically worked its way up to the stock price "high" category and looks headed for a regular season conference title.

KENTUCKY- Statistically UK is the best team in the conference, leading in multiple different categories. The Cats took care of business over the weekend by sweeping Tennessee. They are a definite for the NCAA Tournament and likely will host the first two weekends.

MISSISSIPPI STATE- After winning 10 of its last 14 games, the Bulldogs were ambushed in Athens by the other Bulldogs. No need for MSU fans to panic though, State is another definite for the NCAAs. If they can take a couple from LSU this weekend it would probably boost the Tiger's seeding.

LSU- The Tigers drove a stake into the hearts of Auburn, sweeping the suddenly struggling plainsmen. They have a huge matchup this weekend with Mississippi State with championship implications.

ARKANSAS- The hogs took care of business, taking two of three games from visiting Vanderbilt. A division championship is not out of the question for the Razorbacks. If they can sweep a series at Texas A&M this weekend while MSU takes two of three from LSU, they will at least tie for the division title.

TEXAS A&M- A&M was on a roll, winning five straight series but the Aggies have hit a rough spot, losing two straight series to the Mississippi schools. TAMU hosts Arkansas this weekend in a series with important postseason seeding implications.

STOCK PRICE SO-SO

AUBURN- It's shocking what has happened to Auburn. Doing so well but then losing six straight league games including three to the team with the worst record in the SEC. After looking like a contender for the SEC title, Auburn might end up with nothing, and that already includes not having bragging rights in its own state.

VANDERBILT- Two unfortunate missed calls by SEC officials in the Friday game with Arkansas might have cost Vandy the game. Even so, Vanderbilt still has its head above water. With a home series with Alabama this weekend the Commodores have a chance to rack up some wins and improve their SEC-T and NCAA seedings.

SOUTH CAROLINA- Carolina hasn't won a home series since March. Over the weekend it was Missouri that continued the Gamecock's league losing streak. They get a home series with a dangerous Georgia team this weekend. A sweep and USC is back at .500 in the league.

OLE MISS- The Rebels haven't been given up for dead yet. They lost handily in the Friday game in College Station but responded by winning the next two, ironically the same as their Bulldog rivals did the week before. A trip to Auburn this weekend was once looked at as a formidable undertaking, now just looks like a normal trip to the plains.

MISSOURI- After seven straight series losses the Tigers were able to pull one out at South Carolina. Mizzou gets a trip to Tennessee to finish the regular season. The Tigers probably need a deep run in the SEC-T to have a shot at a NCAA bid.

GEORGIA- The Bulldogs sent shockwaves through the SEC with their series win over Mississippi State. UGA lost the first game but then won two-straight identical score game (4-1) to take the series. The dogs get a trip to South Carolina to finish the regular season. If they can win just one they'll have a certain spot in the SEC-T field.

STOCK PRICE LOW

TENNESSEE- UT hosts Missouri this weekend. If they can pull off a sweep while South Carolina sweeps Georgia, they'll be in the SEC Tourney.

ALABAMA- After sweeping rival Auburn it was back to normal this week as the Tide was swept by Florida. Bama travels to Vanderbilt this weekend.
